Heart of a Hippie, Soul of a Gypsy, Spirit of a Mermaid

Moved to Mexico with 5 suitcases, a dog and a dream. 

2017: I decided life needed to change, but wasn't quite sure how. Then in June of that year, I visited Puerto Vallarta  for the first time and never looked back.

September 1, 2018: I sold my house in Portland, Oregon and by;
September 30, 2018: I sold everything in it.
October 1, 2018: I bought a one-way first class ticket for me and my dog Gracie to a new life in Mexico.

Once here, I watched, I learned and I listened to what the community wanted and needed. 

November 2, 2019: Opened the doors,and welcomed the community into The Living Room. A Bookstore & Cafe in the heart of the Marina. Quickly it became the favorite gathering space for the locals, expats, snowbirds and tourist.

March 2020: the world was struck with a sweeping pandemic and my fledgling little store had to temporarily close. But that wasn't the end of this story. There are many chapters left to be written.  The heart of a hippie, soul of a gypsy and the spirit of a mermaid within me asks...What else is possible?

May 2020, this website was born!

June 2020, thanks to the love and support of the community, we reopened! We strictly abide by all the health and safety protocols and were able to add tables to our outside area.

October 2020, we expanded our hours!

November 2020, we added NEW books, games & puzzles to our inventory!
